Truth & Lies. Its either one or the other.
Ongoing dialogue not directly about Gumbyville (sort of the actual Los Gatos in an alter-CA). Rather, its obliquely referenced. The deeper the reader goes into the physical text on the actual page the nearer they get to the actual place. With--as will be comprehended--extremely tragic ambiance.
Forget exactly what subject matter philipe & gillis were discussing. Anyhow, for Dispatch from Gumbyville purposes its yer elephant...
jfxgillis (Nov 27, 5:18 PM): philipe: Roger wilco. That essay got some buzz on talk radio. NYTimes magazine + talk radio is a rare combo
BTW--What does it mean when you still show a link to a group on your mainpage but can't post to that group & haven't been kicked out but don't see your moniker or icon at the group mainpage? Locked out somehow? Why not just dump me outright?
greenpagan (Nov 27, 6:10 PM): I don't think Jazz likes me anymore since I became nice...
(I was tempted to say something about Habakkuk...but I won't...)
(Can't help it: something about him being a kooky kinda cook... Haben se Zigaretten, Habakkuk?...I dunno...probably shoulda quit while ahead...Left the sacrilege to the Juden komediens [?] being paid for it...in blood...!!!)
jazzman646 (Nov 27, 6:16 PM): yeah thats our Rick Ace on the FB page GP linked based on some comments by some who said they were in touch with him on FB
jfxgillis (Nov 27, 6:30 PM): GP: That sounds like a straight up bug or glitch.
greenpagan (Nov 27, 7:41 PM): Its been that way a while. A video group & a poetry group.
You have juice around here. Help & I won't have to post so much of that kinda thing here. I just don't want it to go for naught.
I posted notices in comment space at those sites to no avail. Tried contacting the group admins but they must be asleep at the switches or disappeared in Blogosphere Beyond the Stars etc. Or they're focking w/me which I really don't appreciate. Just frustrating.
greenpagan (Nov 28, 2:42 PM): Big rain out here in the SF Bay Area. Up here safe & sometimes dry in the Santa Cruz Mts. Store cafe & PO just a block away so its all nice & cozy. I'm hunkered down in my secret room (The Jew Room) with one bitch or another (canines, that is...)
greenpagan (Nov 28, 6:11 PM): Know @!$%# group is another. That link disappeared from my mainpage. Was in now I'm out. (I've been there before...) Looking for exposure without taking my pants off in public. Might start laughter that never stops...
TennisMom2 (Nov 29, 4:34 PM): We've got that same storm here in Oregon and it's a doozy. I expect Noah to float down the street in his ark. We're hunkered down as well.
So, Obama invited Romney for lunch at the WH. The president is a classy guy.
lisaed (Nov 29, 5:28 PM): Tennis: It's just more window dressing bit to make Obama appear "bi-partisan".....sorta like the Christie hug during Sandy. With Obama, it's always for the show (i.e., headline), not the substance.
greenpagan (Nov 29, 10:51 PM): He'll probably send Mitt on a mission to somewhere, like FDR sent Wendell Willke to Moscow. Yeah its to appear "bipartisan". AKA American. (Just an objective observation assuming the Obama WH POV.)
greenpagan (Nov 29, 10:53 PM): Mom
I just saw Noah. He waved...
jazzman646 (Nov 30, 11:42 AM): agree with lisa...Obama does nothing but put on a show...always on stage.
greenpagan (Nov 30, 3:32 PM): I agree with jazz & lise. Obama deserves an Academy Award. Definitely a greater actor than even Ronald Wilson Reagan aka 666. Or even Sidney Applebaum...
But I mean that in the nicest possible educative way...
philipe (Nov 30, 5:43 PM): Obama does nothing but put on a show...
And he can't even juggle.
greenpagan (Nov 30, 7:22 PM): Jack
If you must then remove the Bataan & the Bloomfield (Electric Flag). Pls keep the Tito Puentes Penelope Cruz one up. Thx.
Its still torrential downpours up here in the SC Mts. & I'm in my secret Jew Room without much to do since the golden retriever was picked up. Just running around patching leaks & etc. No booty call yet. Actually, not looking forward to it when it comes at this current historical moment. I'm all worn out & grooving on semi-synthetics, Rx. Maybe a little Viagra...?
Okay. Just saw Noah again. He needs help. Maybe a six-pack...
newbroom (Dec 1, 7:20 AM): [...] My income is derived from actually producing something by working with my mind and body 5 days a week and I don't enjoy having those who do nothing taking up ownership of schools, prisons, hospitals, health care, energy, ....uh....all that stuff....you may NOT own our society.
greenpagan (Dec 1, 12:22 PM): Re:you may NOT own our society.
Yeah but didn't the Bush Crime Family call this "the Ownership Society"...? Anyhow...They can do anything you can't stop them from doing. The great super-acquisitive hogs & cannibals of the Earth are winning. Better do something quick else you'll be back out in them cotton fields pickin' that cotton faster than you can belch Jack Robinson...!
Its Nature. Slave-making instinct. All life lives off other life. The rulers depend on the cowardice stupidity & ignorance of the masses. So far they've proved they're smarter. So maybe they've a cosmic right to rule & inherit the planet & all the oil therein. God put Satan on a long leash. But God holds...Wait a minute. The leash has snapped. God has resigned. And the God-makers are in the market for a new deity to take Old Yahweh & Sons, Inc. place.
Have a blessed day...you all...
(And I mean that in the nicest possible way because I'm trying real hard to be & remain nice. Don't know how long that can last tho...Can't promise anything...Sorry...)
newbroom (Dec 2, 6:38 AM): The word society suggests a mutual responsibility for said ownership. The systematic exploitation of life w/o regard to the consequences shows me that the rulers are not smarter, GP, but rather, criminally insane.
greenpagan (Dec 2, 2:53 PM): newbroom: Re "the rulers are not smarter, GP, but rather, criminally insane"
Therefore they don't know right from wrong & can't be held criminally culpable? Then off to the psychiatric hospital... away with them. Or better yet the FEMA camps where we can feed them heavy doses of LSD, glazed chicken Wahzoo & bagel chips...
And video tape their conjugal visitation sessions...
greenpagan (Dec 2, 3:21 PM): Next project: a slightly off-kilter theatrical company. [Good name for a theatre company...?] Holding auditions, brainstorming & even barnstorming...barnburning...???
Will be writing my own adaptation of Euripides' "The Bacchae" & will most probably leave be Shaw's "Don Juan in Hell" ( a stand alone piece from a section of his "Man & Superman"). [Wilde's "Salome" is another of my faves. Also, I think it Wilde's best play. Enough of that "Importance of Being Earnest" crap. Well, not crap but its been done, don't you think?]
Two of my all-time favorites. Will consider original sketches & one-act plays for future production.
We need permission from the town council (the Los Gatos Soviet) for putting on the plays at the Old Town amphitheater & other locations I've in mind, e.g. Vasona Park.
I've also been writing what should be the first of perhaps four interrelated erotic-love stories. Now that I'm closer to the end than the beginning--in my life I'm talking about--I've finally found my own voice.
Some pointers for myself: The only way to learn to write is to write. Its a lifelong process.
Write down the bones. You can always rewrite, revise, change around, throw out, bury in your yard, add to the Mulligan...
When writing at least initially I've found that putting down exactly what your inner overly-censorious grand inquisitor homunculus determines you should not write is the best funniest most surprising way to go. But that's just me.
I try to have a good time when doing creative writing (fiction). But that's where I'm at now anyway no matter what; short story, news story, essay, poem, lyric, etc.
If I'm bored by my own stuff I'm in deep doo-doo. In that kind of situation I usually just spike the piece, put it in the nevernevernever file or get drunk & throw up. Make love...or "self-pollinate"...or play a musical instrument until the oxycodone kicks in & I dwell in the Land of Nod, East of Eaten...(Title for a food column...? I'd like getting into food & wine & travel stories/journalism. I guess I'll just start with restaurants in Los Gatos, Santa Cruz, San Jose--Original Joe's is definitely one of the best fun places to stuff yer gob. Be sure to sit at the counter to watch the cooking & meet fellow diners & share food. IOW--share in fellowship, comradeship, etc.)
Is that it? Maybe I could've put all this in a revived Dispatches from Gumbyville article...But anyway...See you on the flip side.
Will maybe post the short story [or sample] at the Writers group, Greenpagan's Lit. Mag. etc. or something or email if interested. Would appreciate feedback, constructive criticism, etc. if I do decide to post.
greenpagan (Dec 3, 1:40 PM): Sitting in the Los Gatos Roasting Co. cafe. An acquaintance of mine in LG just lost a client over in Monte Sereno. The guy was murdered in a home invasion during the recent torrential downpours. His wife was beaten up pretty bad. Cops got a sketch out there in the media etc. but so far no luck. The real world makes itself felt in this part of the world too. The full moon. Desperation. Vendettas? Not much known yet. I'm not asking around. I wait for information to come to me in situations like these. I'll keep you all informed. I'll probably post a "seed" when I get more. Those interested can punch up: Murder in Monte Sereno.
Endnotes: Great WiFi here at Teri Hope's place (LG Roasting).
BTW-- I know what Lady X looks like without her (Her) hat. She'd look good in anything. (Or without anything. Whichever comes first. She was a Miss Italy, so I'd better omerta-up...or down, as the case may be...)
See you on the flip side.
