Something tells me that in very many cases these purported Hillaryites for McCain are really Limbaughites for Hillary.
Or else otherwise loyal Democrats who still haven't completed all the stages of grieving and are stuck at the denial and anger phases.
Jonathan Hoenig (diametrically opposed to universal healthcare) is someone I wouldn't mind seeing dance the horizontal Lambada in an Islamist music video.
Guys like him think their crapitalist gains are honest and not essentially based in exploitation of persons and planet. And think they themselves are paying for everybody! We live in a commons. Not some Ayn Rand bubble-fantasy.
IOW--Not only is Hoenig a monkey-boy (which no doubt partially accounts for the chip on his shoulder) but suffers from extreme rightwing dementia (like Reagan and Thatcher). He does not see healthcare as a right. (Not even a human right? How moral is that? Not very…Ask a silly question…) Then I suppose he doesn't mind paying for the most expensive healthcare system in the world due in no small part small part to the uninsured utilizing emergency rooms like primary medical care clinics. Hoenig is more concerned with those in need getting healthcare no matter what the cost. An intellectually constipated ideology is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
Dinosaurs still walk the Earth…
Jimmy Carter defended Barack Obama from McCain's attacks on his alleged lack of experience.
"Well, Senator Obama hasn't been around as long as John McCain. But as for experience, he certainly has just as much if not more than a certain Governor of Georgia, a certain Governor of Arkansas and a certain Governor of Texas…" Point taken. Of course Dittoheads, FOX Noizers and ilk would vehemently disagree…
Mediawise everything is under a microscope, today more than ever.
But the audience becomes habituated to the corporate media's mountains-from-molehills and horserace routines designed to create counterfeit controversies and to fill time, with , of course, an eye towards an expanded eyeball count hence larger profits.
It takes a special kind of person to get into politics or entertainment in these times. It helps if you're an exhibitionist and are an regenerate narcissist or at least endlessly infatuated with the sound of your own voice.
Do you know what a Freedom Cage is? (Besides being an oxymoron….)
It's where you can practice your First Amendment rights to Speech , Assembly etc. without getting your head beaten to a pulp. Pathetic.
Anybody seen George Orwell around lately…?
According to Bill Press this morning on Stephanie Miller's radio show:
The "cops" (Blackwater types) are walking around Denver with AK-47s looking like they will shoot you for wearing your press credentials upside-down.
GOP Bless Vespucci Land…
What the Right are saying about the Obamas:
Obama wasn't born in the USA. (Of course he wasn't. Everybody knows he was born in a manger in Bethlehem…)
That wasn't the real Michelle Obama last night. (Those Muslim terrorists are so clever…)
The Obama children are so well behaved. Therefore…there must be something wrong with them. Abused? (Of course Rudy Giuliani's kid carrying on-- when Rudy was sworn in as Mayor of NYC years ago-- was perfectly okay…)
BTW -- Would Rudy Giuliani be a good McCain VP pick? No one is talking about it. Maybe that's why Rudy didn't fight for the nomination; a deal had already been cooked?
(Just brainstorming here…)
FOX News coverage during the speeches last night focused on people sleeping yawning looking unhappy.
When Michelle Obama spoke they showed Black and Brown faces. As if there were no White faces to be seen.
I'm just amazed they didn't have Dennis Miller doing his schticklach during Ted Kennedy's speech.
Why are we not surprised…?
FOX News like their Dems semi-coherent and submissive who must be tagged "leftist" and characterized as mainstream. They don't go for the confrontational but eloquent types. They might make Bill-O look bad and expose Hannity for the utter dumbass he most certainly is. (But he makes a very nice living so he's a fine mensch…)
BTW-- Roger Ailes (President of FOX News) was the media-father of President Richard M. Nixon's Southern Strategy. Brilliant guy. If you're a credulous boob or a totally irrational core-hater, that is…
