Please don't expect me to write a whole lot on this song. What's your interpretation?
My zen-take: When you're depressed drunk loaded drifting nutty horny, I'll show up at your place & hang out & surprise you. How? By coming on? By not coming on? By declaring that I want to be your lover, your friend, your-lover-friend, friend-lover...? I'll give you what I think you need from me.
Just a sample of Interpol. I've been into them for some time. Some years, actually. You can rest assured, I'll be posting more of their work.
The lyric is minimalistically simple. But you'd best believe the sentiment has a mantric depth & breadth.
Untitled
Surprise, sometimes, will come around
Surprise, sometimes, will come around
I will surprise you sometime.
I'll come around
Oh, I will surprise you sometime.
I'll come around when you're down...
