Bark, released in 1971, [which contains "When The Earth Moves Again" ] is one of the late-period albums by Jefferson Airplane, notable for many "firsts" with its major personnel change. It was the first without band founder Marty Balin and the first with violinist Papa John Creach. Drummer Spencer Dryden had also departed, being replaced by Joey Covington. This was the first all new Airplane LP in two years, the previous being Volunteers, released in 1969. It was also the first to be released under the Jefferson Airplane owned Grunt Records label.
Lead guitarist Jorma Kaukonen has four songwriting credits on this album, indicative of his growing importance as a composer. At the time of the album's release, he and bassist Jack Casady had already recorded two albums for their spin-off blues group Hot Tuna.
The album was a success upon its release, reaching #11 on the charts and eventually went gold.

Actually...its a song of coming evolutionary revolution during the years of rage. At least that's the way I see it. BTW -- We're still waiting. It looks like you have to make the revolution within yourself first. And not depend on any vanguard or bunch of berserkers.
Going home to the Sun is a metaphor for enlightenment, personal & collective. Quite an order to fill. But since the moral universe appears to bend toward "the ultimate justice of the gods" it pays to remain positive.
In the end "we win". You just have to live so long...In the meantime, all you starry-eyed idealists & romantic post-romantics, kick back, light another one, pop a few oxycodones, grab a significant other or two & get lost in the music.
When the Earth Moves Again
In golden Hannibal Carthage days marchin' onto Rome
knockin' on the door and findin' nobody home there
Rome she cut our army down and left them in the snow so now
I go to where I come from now I go home to the Sun
When the earth moves again
when the earth moves again my friend
let the lady ride on through
when the earth moves again
Egyptian kings they sing of Gods and pyramids of stone
and they left the deserts clean and they left the deserts
golden and shinin' as a beacon for those that need a road
into the day and thru the night we go and find our way home
when the earth moves again
my love to all the people I leave behind
search out the new ground around you
when the earth moves again
your head can pull your body around
and you can leave whenever you can and the ground
take what you and on the land sea foam glass is sand
if you've only lived on earth you've never seen the sun
or the promise of a thousand other suns that glow beyond here
and if you care to see the future look into the eyes
of your young dancing children don't be afraid of our ways
when the earth moves again
when the earth moves again
watch the lady ride and sigh
when the earth moves again
Moses Moses the red sea closes over you when you
least expect it to
when the earth moves again
when the earth moves again
