Researchers report that men with longer ring fingers, compared to index fingers, tended to be more successful in the frantic high-frequency trading in the London financial district.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

So what's the damn ratio? The article might at least have given that so we can see if we measure up.

Okay, how did all these "long ring finger" types make out in the financial meltdown?  I have to comment that there could be an explanation for the "long ring finger" syndrome for the last few decades.  It goes under the well known word, "nepotism".  Hire only family and "near family" types with "long ring fingers", perhaps based on their testosterone fuelled bravado.  Also, of note, for a male, risk taking has been recently connected strongly to acquiring a mate, so are these "money makers" all going to acquire a new mate every year.  Not a very stable economy there....

My thoughts exactly, this kind of sounds similar to the whole male organ envy thing.
